英國西倫敦大學（University of West London）成立于1860年，是一所歷史悠久的現代化大學，從事職業技術教育已經有130多年的歷史，1992年升為大學。其前身為泰晤士河谷大學（Thames Valley University）。1990到1991年間，該大學與伊林高等教育學院、泰晤士河谷學院、夏洛特皇后保健醫療學院以及倫敦音樂學院建立了合作關系，提供多樣化的課程，主要是為學生就業提供教育培訓。2004年與 Reading藝術和設計學院合并，2011年5月12日泰晤士河谷大學正式更名為西倫敦大學。成為英國最大的大學之一。

2017年9月，西倫敦大學在英國星期日泰晤士報優秀大學指南（The Sunday Times Good University Guide）中排名第56名.
2017年5月，西倫敦大學在英國衛報英國大學排名（The Guardian University League Tables）中排名為第58名。
2017年，西倫敦大學在完全大學指南（The Complete University Guide）中排名為第79名。
2013年，曾榮獲 “倫敦最好現代化大學（Best Modern University in London）” 殊榮。
